FAQs
Do you accept health insurance?
No. I accept payment by credit card, debit card, HSA, or FSA. For a $25 fee, I can create a lab order to Quest Diagnostics with your insurance information included, though coverage is never guaranteed. Click here to see if your plan is in network with Quest Diagnostics
Why don’t you accept insurance?
When practitioners participate with insurance carriers, they enter into a contract that allows insurance companies to dictate what services will be given. This can limit the quality of care and the time spent with patients. A cash based approach allows me to give more time and attention to my patients
What is required to be seen?
I will need your new patient forms to be completed at last 24 hour prior to our scheduled appointment. Patients must be located in in the states I’m licensed in at the time of visit (Colorado, Hawaii, and Florida)
Do you offer in person appointments?
Yes. In person appointments are available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons in Westminster, Colorado. Zoom meetings are also available
How long does it take to see results?
Every person’s timeline is unique, but most of my patients start noticing symptomatic improvement within 2-3 months
Full restoration, however, can take 6 months to several years depending on how long your body has been under stress and how consistent you are with your plan. My goal is to help you get results as efficiently as possible so that you no longer need ongoing care (unless we’re managing prescription therapy like HRT or peptides).
Functional medicine isn’t meant to keep you dependent on your provider. It’s meant to empower you to take back your health and maintain balance for life.
Will I be prescribed medications?
Depending on your plan of care, you may be prescribed medications. If you are interested in hormone replacement therapy or peptides, you will definitely require a prescription from me

Can functional medicine help with hormone balance or perimenopause?
Absolutely! Functional medicine looks beyond a single prescription because true hormone balance involves your whole body, not just your estrogen or progesterone levels.
Whether you’ve been offered hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or a peptide, those are often just one piece of the puzzle. I often help my patients identify nutrient deficiencies, adrenal fatigue, poor sleep, or chronic stress that are affecting their hormones.
My role as your functional medicine provider is to identify these root causes and help your body return to balance naturally through personalized nutrition, targeted supplementation, lifestyle strategies, and medication support when appropriate!
You’ll gain not only a customized plan, but a caring partner who believes in your body’s God given ability to heal and thrive.
What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine is a science-based, personalized approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and treating the root causes of disease rather than just masking symptoms.
Unlike conventional medicine, which often treats each system separately, functional medicine views the body as one interconnected system.
We use advanced lab testing, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies to restore balance and help your body heal naturally.
Is functional medicine evidence based?
Yes. Functional medicine is deeply rooted in science and clinical research. It combines the best of conventional medical knowledge with cutting-edge research on nutrition, genetics, hormones, gut health, and environmental medicine.
The difference is in how we apply the evidence. Instead of focusing only on symptom management, we interpret lab data and research through a personalized lens — so your care is guided by both data and your unique biology.
Functional medicine is supported by peer-reviewed studies in fields like systems biology, endocrinology, and nutrition science. It continues to evolve as new research confirms what many of us already see in practice: that when the body is supported in the right environment, it has an incredible ability to heal.

What’s the difference between a functional health coach, functional nutritionist, functional nurse practitioner, and functional doctor?
Functional medicine is a team effort — but each professional has a different role:
Nurse Practitioners (like me) are advanced practice registered nurses that can diagnose, order labs, prescribe medications, and create treatment plans.
MDs/DOs are physicians with extensive diagnostic and procedural training.
Health Coaches focus on motivation and accountability to help you apply lifestyle changes.
Nutritionists specialize in dietary support and meal planning.
As a board certified nurse practitioner also certified in in functional medicine, I combine the diagnostic and prescriptive authority of conventional medicine with the holistic, whole-body approach of functional medicine. You get the best of both worlds :)
What does your process look like?
Your journey starts with a two-part new patient appointment:
Initial visit (1 hour): We review your medical history and symptoms, then order a comprehensive lab panel.
Lab review (1 hour): We discuss results and create your personalized care plan.
From there, you can choose between several membership and package options that fit your lifestyle and support level — from flexible drop in visits to a high-touch 6 month program
